Carrier Gas Furnace Installation In Princeton New Jersey

The Mitchner home had an old and outdated oil furnace. They were experiencing common issues associated with this. When we arrived at their home, Casey Gainey, one of our qualified HVAC experts, conducted a thorough inspection. He determined that their furnace needed to be replaced. Consequently, we conducted a gas furnace installation for this Princeton NJ home.

We work on many different heating and cooling service calls throughout the Princeton, NJ area. The Mitchner home is quite characteristic of this area. Cape Cod styled architectural, such as the Mitchners’ home, is common for this area. Faced with a heating system replacement, the Mitchners decided to undergo a heating oil to natural gas conversion.

Problem:

Because of the updated building codes, the Mitchner home needed to replace their old and outdated furnace. Instead of replacing their furnace with another one that uses fuel oil, they decided to convert their home to natural gas.

Solution:

Their lowboy oil furnace was replaced with a Carrier Infinity 98 Gas Furnace With Greenspeed – 59MN7. We rotated their new furnace 90 degrees and added return ductwork. Their new heater has an external filter rack for ease of maintenance and meets all current codes. We also installed a new variable speed fan on their air conditioner. This will help increase the efficiency. We expect to see a SEER increase from 15.5 to a 16.5.

Signs That Your Oil Furnace Needs To Be Replaced:

a furnace being installed by an HVAC contractorA furnace is an important piece of machinery that keeps a home warm during the cold weather. However, after 16 to 20 years, it is time to start shopping for a new one. It is important for a homeowner to keep track of how effectively a furnace is working. Homeowners should know when a replacement is necessary so that they won’t have to spend an endless amount of money on repairs. A functional home requires a heater that is operating safely and energy efficiently.

By being aware of the signs that indicate the need for a furnace replacement, a homeowner will be able to do so before a breakdown occurs. No one wants to deal with a failing furnace right in the middle of the winter. Some of the most common warning signs of a failing furnace are:

  • Age: When a furnace is 16 to 20 years of age, then it is time to start shopping for a new one. By doing this ahead of time, a homeowner can avoid shopping for a furnace during an emergency, like a furnace malfunction. Emergency heating situations do not provide an adequate amount of time to make a good decision.
  • Energy Bills That Are Increasing: When a home’s energy bills are increasing for no logical reason, then it might be time to replace the furnace. As a furnace ages, it loses its efficiency. This means that heating costs will rise. This happens a lot sooner for furnaces that are not properly maintained. Click here to schedule a heating system tune-up.
  • Repair Costs Are Increasing: If a furnace requires repairs frequently within the last 2 years, then it is time to replace it. It easy for one repair cost after another to add up. Furnaces require the most repairs during the last 2 years of their lifespan.
  • Strange Noises: When a furnace is emitting strange noises, then this usually indicates the need for a replacement. Furnaces make strange noises when they are approaching the end of their lifespan. This also goes for a furnace blower that is running excessively.
  • Dry And Dusty House: When a furnace is approaching the end of its life, then it will not keep the air in a home clean. However, there are other aspects that will cause poor indoor air quality. When a homeowner notices that the air quality in the home has gotten worse, then be sure to call in a specialist.

Carrier Furnaces Provide Quiet Operation And Energy Savings

Benefits Of Installing A New Furnace In A Home:

Upgrading a furnace offers many advantages to the homeowner. As a furnace ages, it loses its efficiency. Therefore, when an old furnace is replaced with a new system, heating costs are reduced. Updated furnaces not only offer a higher energy efficiency but they also are quieter during operation. Updated furnaces are much quieter than their noisy predecessors. A new furnace will be able to maintain an even temperature throughout the home as well as maintain the temperature at more constant level.  Many energy efficient models offer rebates and some states offer available tax credits. This makes an investment in a new furnace even more worthwhile.

“I have been very impressed with PFO’s handling of the conversion from oil to gas conversion, start to finish. The approach has been trustworthy and “old fashioned” (which to my mind is the highest possible compliment). It is rare to find any company that cares about customer service and quality any more. Jeff Witham is a furnace saver and a gentleman

Jeff Witham came over from PA to NJ at 5pm on a Sunday night Jan 20, 2019 as the temperature outside plummeted to 10°F . My house had gotten frightfully cold because the furnace stopped running due to no fault with my home heating system. My furnace shut off because the fuel delivery company PFO, failed to deliver the fuel oil in time and the 300 gallon tank at my house when dry which caused air in the fuel line. Jeff Witham diagnosed the problem and checked every other function of my heating system. My panic went away. Jeff is a thoughtful great serviceman who is a great person and rescued my house!! Sincerely, Karl Dresdner, Princeton, NJ.
